West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo, born in São Tomé, has expressed confidence that Lucas Paqueta remains fully committed to the club this season.
The Brazil international has recently been linked with a possible January move amid reported interest from other clubs.
Nuno dismissed speculation linking Paqueta with a transfer to Manchester City, insisting any previous approaches are now “over.”
“I think that is over. It’s finished, it’s clear,” Nuno said. “We did what we had to do. The squad supports Lucas, and this is what is most important, that his teammates support him.”
The West Ham boss also confirmed that Paqueta remains content in East London. “Definitely, yes,” Nuno said when asked if the attacker is happy at the club.
Paqueta has impressed in the Premier League since joining West Ham, demonstrating creativity and goal-scoring ability from midfield.
His performances have been pivotal to the Hammers’ attacking strategy, and Nuno’s public backing could boost both morale and stability within the squad.
