‘Lovely time together’ – Andre Ayew reflects on special summer with brother Jordan

Andre Ayew has reflected on the time he spent playing football with his brother Jordan Ayew during the summer, describing their reunion on the pitch as something that was needed.

The two Ghana internationals spent several months together in Ghana, featuring in football matches at Nania Park in Legon as well as games in Tema and Kumasi.

Their appearances at Nania Park, which attracted several other professional footballers, generated significant interest among football fans, with the matches becoming a major talking point on several occasions.

Following Jordan’s move to Sheffield United, André took to social media to reflect on the period they shared together before the younger Ayew resumed his professional career in England.

“Really lovely time spent together again for a few months like in them days, was needed,” André wrote on his IG story.

The brothers have shared the pitch for Ghana and at club level at different stages of their careers, making their recent return to playing together in community matches a notable moment for supporters.

Jordan has now returned to competitive football in England after leaving Leicester City at the end of his contract in July.

The 34-year-old Ghana captain has signed a one-year deal with Sheffield United, who are looking to recover from a difficult start to their Championship campaign.

The Blades have managed just one victory from their opening five matches and will hope Jordan’s experience can help improve their fortunes.

Jordan has spent more than a decade playing in England, representing Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City in the Premier League.
