Former France international Louis Saha has expressed his belief that Paul Pogba would enhance Manchester United’s squad if he were to return.
Pogba, who departed from the club in 2022 after a six-year tenure, has been sidelined due to a suspension related to a positive test for the banned substance DHEA in August 2023.
Initially facing a four-year ban, Pogba’s suspension was later reduced to 18 months following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on October 4, 2024.
Pogba, who is a France international of Guinean descent, is anticipated to resume training by January 2025, with eligibility to participate in competitive matches starting in March 2025.
Saha noted that there are discussions about Pogba potentially returning to train with Manchester United in the new year.
“I’ve heard some rumours that Paul Pogba will be offered the opportunity to come back and train with Man United in the New Year, and I think that would be a great opportunity for Paul,” Saha remarked.
“I think the United squad lacks power in the midfield, and we’re missing a skilful player that can play box-to-box, so he would be a good addition because he’s a different profile of player to what United have,” Saha concluded.
