JORDAN AYEW: “I BELIEVE IN MY STAR” — GHANAIAN FORWARD FINDS FORM AT LORIENT
After a challenging stint at Olympique de Marseille and a loan spell at Sochaux, Jordan Ayew has found new life at Lorient, where his performances have become noticeably more consistent. The 23-year-old Ghanaian striker, son of legendary Abedi Pelé and younger brother of André Ayew, seems to be turning a corner in his career.
Though parting ways with Marseille was emotionally difficult, Ayew remains optimistic about his future. Speaking on Canal Football Club, he shared his views on his former team and his own trajectory:
“Honestly, I’m not surprised by OM’s form. The coach has changed a lot of things. They’re not unbeatable, but they’re off to a good start and will be in the top three, that’s for sure.”
On his decision to leave Marseille, Jordan was clear and reflective:
“I believe in destiny. People might think my career is stalling, but not me. I believe in my star and I continue to work hard—only God knows. I think I’ve done my time in Marseille. I’ve learned a lot. The time had come for me to leave.”
At Lorient, Ayew is showing signs that he’s ready to step out of the shadows and shape his own path. For him, it’s not the end—just a new chapter in a story he’s still writing.
