While Yassine Benzia remains determined to stay at Lyon despite interest from Stade Rennais, FC Lorient has now entered the race for the Algerian-origin forward. According to L’Équipe, Lorient aims to make Benzia the successor to Raphaël Guerreiro, who is expected to leave the club soon.
Guerreiro is reportedly attracting attention from PSG, Atlético Madrid, and Newcastle, but Lorient is keen to secure a replacement promptly.
Similar to what happened with Majeed Waris, Lorient appears close to finalizing an agreement with Lyon for Benzia’s transfer. The deal is reportedly valued between €2.5 million and €3 million. Rennes, despite reaching an agreement with Lyon, could see Lorient swoop in to sign the young talent.
