After nearly five decades at the helm of the Club Youth Marsa in the capital of the desert, Laayoune, Hassan Drahim has tendered his resignation from the club’s football management without disclosing specific reasons.

The announcement of Drahim’s departure, made on Thursday, February 8th, has taken the supporters of Club Youth Marsa by surprise, along with several other members of the management committee.

In his resignation statement, Drahim expressed his decision to step down from the sports association while affirming his support for and commitment to the club from his position as the president of the sports company, Club Youth Marsa Sports.

He commended the efforts of all members of the management board and stakeholders for their assistance during his tenure in managing the affairs of the club.

Furthermore, Drahim acknowledged the financial, moral, and logistical support provided by the Ministry of Interior, the Auxiliary Forces of the Northern and Southern Regions of the Kingdom, the Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP), and the company FOUSPOKRAA towards the club.

He expressed gratitude to all individuals who have supported the sports association, whether directly or indirectly.

Drahim also expressed his aspiration to lead the team back to the top-tier professional league and to seek representation for the southern region of the kingdom in continental competitions.

The departure of Drahim marks the end of an era for Club Youth Marsa, which will now look towards a new chapter under fresh leadership as it continues its footballing journey.
