Lokomotiv Sofia have officially announced the signing of Congolese central defender Ryan Bidounga on a one-season loan from CSKA 1948.
In a statement confirming the transfer, Lokomotiv Sofia expressed their satisfaction with the agreement and acknowledged the cooperation of CSKA 1948 during negotiations.
“Lokomotiv Sofia management is pleased to announce that they have signed a transfer agreement with CSKA 1948 for the rights to Ryan Bidounga.
The 27-year-old central defender is a Congolese international and will join the team for the start of the preparation.
We would like to thank CSKA 1948 for their professional and fair attitude,” the club’s statement read.
Bidounga, originally from Brazzaville, joins Lokomotiv Sofia in search of more consistent playing time.
The defender has struggled for regular minutes this season at CSKA 1948, featuring in 10 matches across all competitions and accumulating a total of just 837 minutes on the pitch.
While Bidounga’s playing time has been limited, Lokomotiv Sofia see the Congolese international as a valuable addition to their defensive line-up.
At 27, his experience and international credentials are expected to bring depth and solidity to the team as they look to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Bidounga’s move marks his second spell in Bulgarian football, continuing his career in a league where he has already gained valuable experience.
Lokomotiv Sofia will be keen to integrate the central defender quickly as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
The club’s management emphasized their ambition to compete at the highest level and expressed confidence that Bidounga’s signing aligns with their broader plans for success this season.
For Bidounga, the loan provides an opportunity to reignite his form and showcase his abilities in a new environment.
With Lokomotiv Sofia eager to climb the league standings, all eyes will be on the Congolese international to see how he adapts to his new team and contributes to their goals.
