Tunisian international Hamdi Harbaoui is making waves as a key player for Lokeren, showcasing his prowess with a stellar performance against Anderlecht. In the clash between the two teams on the 27th day of the Belgian championship, Harbaoui led his side to victory with a decisive goal, securing a 2-1 win for his teammates.
Harbaoui’s goal, scored in the 40th minute, marks his 15th goal of the season, cementing his status as one of the top scorers in the league. However, despite his success in Belgium, the 29-year-old striker has set his sights on a new challenge and is eyeing a move to England. While he received an offer from Guangzhou Evergrande in China, Harbaoui believes that his sporting ambitions align more with a move to the English football scene.
“I received an offer from Guangzhou Evergrande in China, but it didn’t meet my sporting ambitions. My next destination will be none other than England. Nonetheless, it’s important not to rush into decisions,” Harbaoui revealed.
With his impressive goal-scoring record, Harbaoui currently ranks as the second top African scorer in the league, trailing behind Michy Batshuayi of Congo, who has scored 17 goals.
Following this victory, Lokeren climbs to 5th place in the league standings, fueled by Harbaoui’s stellar performances and leadership on the field.
