Loïc Williams is being linked with a surprise move from Granada CF to MLS side Colorado Rapids, with the Spanish-born centre-back emerging as a possible defensive target for the Denver club.
The 24-year-old, who holds both Spanish and Congolese nationality, is currently valued at €1.00m and remains under contract with Granada, but there is no publicly listed expiry date, raising the prospect he could become available on a free in the near future. Transfermarkt has flagged the rumour with the probability marker left as “?”, underlining that the deal is at an early and uncertain stage.
Colorado, who compete in Major League Soccer, are understood to be monitoring Williams as they look to bolster their back line with a left-footed central defender. Having established himself in Spain’s professional ranks with Granada in LaLiga2, the defender offers experience in a league known for its tactical discipline and technical quality, attributes that could appeal to MLS recruiters.
Williams joined Granada from CD Tenerife in 2024 after a rapid rise in value, climbing from €25,000 at CD Atlético Paso in 2022 to €500,000 at Tenerife by mid-2024, before reaching his current €1.00m mark with Granada in 2025. He has previously come through youth systems at Levante UD, Patacona CF, Valencia CF and Girona FC, progressing from under-19 football into senior competition across Spain’s lower divisions.
