Liverpool’s plan to sign English Ivorian defender Marc Guehi after failed summer transfer revealed
Liverpool are reportedly plotting to sign English defender of Ivorian descent Marc Guehi in the winter transfer window.
The English Premier League defending champions have not given up on the highly sought-after centre-back despite a failed attempt to secure his services in the summer transfer window.
According to sources, the Reds are willing to wait and will return with an offer to poach Guehi from Crystal Palace next January.
Guehi, 25, has impressed with his performances for Crystal Palace in the past year and remains one of the top defenders in England.
Having established himself as a key man for the Eagles, he is regarded highly at the club.
While a deadline day move to Liverpool failed and caused the defender disappointment, he remains committed to Crystal Palace.
Liverpool are aware of the possibility of losing Ibrahima Konate in 2026 and wants to sign Guehi as his replacement.
