Jarell Quansah could return to Liverpool next summer, with the Premier League club reportedly expected to activate its contractual option to recall the defender from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Sport Bild, Liverpool are likely to exercise the option, which would require them to pay Leverkusen €70 million for the 23-year-old centre-back.

Liverpool must make a decision on the clause by 15 June 2027.

Liverpool face decision over Quansah

Quansah joined Bayer Leverkusen from Liverpool last year in a deal worth €35 million, but his stay in Germany could reportedly last only two seasons.

The England defender has a contractual recall option in his agreement with the Bundesliga club, giving Liverpool the opportunity to bring him back to Anfield.

However, activating the clause would not necessarily mean Quansah will play for Liverpool again.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid linked

Liverpool could instead recall Quansah before selling him directly to another club, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid among the clubs reportedly interested in the defender.

That possibility could make the arrangement particularly significant for Liverpool, who could potentially generate a substantial profit if they pay €70 million to bring Quansah back before selling him on for a higher fee.

For Leverkusen, however, the reported return of Quansah to Liverpool would represent a major setback after signing him permanently last year.
