Liverpool have targeted Ivory Coast international Yann Diomande as a replacement for Egypt star Mohammed Salah ahead of the summer transfer window.
Salah’s performance has dropped significantly with Liverpool in the current campaign, prompting his bench warming role in certain matches. The pacey winger had temporary falling out with Liverpool manager Arne Slot, before issues were resolved.
As per sources in England, Liverpool have set sights on cashing in on the forward, believing that would be the last opportunity for the club to financially benefit from the Egyptian.
However, the Premier League giants are said to be considering several options to replace Salah next summer, with Yann Diomande, the RB Leipzig winger, who has stood out remarkably this season, being the top choice.
Liverpool is preparing an offer to sign Diomande during the upcoming summer transfer window, and the deal is expected to be worth £87 million.
Diomande is one of the most prominent young talents in the German league this season, and his speed, versatility in attack, and consistent performance have attracted considerable interest from Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.
Liverpool are keen to move quickly to sign Diomande before other clubs make a move for the player, and that bringing in the Ivorian international is linked to the departure of Mohamed Salah.
Diomande had previously expressed his desire to play for Liverpool, explaining that signing with the Reds was a dream come true for him.
