Liverpool target Yan Diomande wins Bundesliga Player of the Month

Yan Diomande has added another milestone to his rapidly rising reputation after being named Bundesliga Player of the Month, a reward for a decisive run of form that has powered RB Leipzig into a strong finish to the season.

The 19-year-old forward has emerged as one of the standout young talents in European football, delivering two goals and an assist across four matches in April.

The award comes amid increased interest from Liverpool as a possible Mohamed Salah replacement.

His contributions were central to Leipzig’s perfect league record during that period, a sequence that extended their winning run to five matches at a pivotal stage of the campaign.

That surge in momentum has lifted Leipzig into third place in the Bundesliga standings, placing them firmly on course for qualification to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Across the season, the Ivorian has registered 12 goals and seven assists in 30 league appearances, numbers that underline both his consistency and growing influence.

Despite the increasing attention, Leipzig are understood to be in no mood to part ways with their emerging star. Club officials are said to value him at a fee in excess of €100 million, with no release clause included in his contract. That position leaves the Bundesliga side in a strong negotiating stance, particularly given their ambitions to build around a young core.

With three matches remaining, Leipzig sit five points above fourth-placed Stuttgart and just five behind Borussia Dortmund in second. The battle for Champions League qualification remains finely balanced, and Diomande’s influence is expected to be crucial as the season reaches its decisive phase.
