Liverpool target Yan Diomande as RB Leipzig demand huge transfer fee
Liverpool have reportedly identified Yan Diomande as their leading target to replace Mohamed Salah this summer, but RB Leipzig are prepared to sanction a move only if a fee of around €92m is met.
The 19-year-old winger, regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting emerging talents, has drawn the attention of several elite clubs after a breakthrough season in Germany.
His performances have made him one of the most closely monitored young players on the continent, and speculation about his future has intensified in recent weeks.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have now placed Diomande at the top of their shortlist as they prepare for a potential reshaping of their attacking options ahead of the next campaign.
The club had also considered Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as a possible option, but that route is now understood to be unrealistic, leaving Diomande as the primary focus for the Merseyside side.
Leipzig, however, are reluctant to lose a player widely viewed as one of their most valuable long‑term assets. The Bundesliga club are said to prefer keeping the Ivory Coast international for at least another season as they continue to build their squad around promising young talent.
Despite that stance, growing demand in the transfer market has forced the German club to acknowledge that a sale could eventually happen.
Reports from Football Insider suggest Leipzig would only be willing to negotiate if potential buyers meet a valuation in the region of €92m.
Such a figure would represent a major financial commitment for Liverpool, who would need to invest heavily if they are serious about securing the winger’s services.
The Premier League club may also find themselves in a competitive race. Manchester United and Bayern Munich are among the sides also tracking the player’s progress and are believed to be ready to challenge for his signature.
With multiple clubs monitoring the situation and Leipzig holding firm on their valuation, any potential deal for Diomande is likely to become one of the most closely watched transfer sagas of the upcoming summer window.
