Premier League leaders Liverpool are reportedly preparing to extend an offer to Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, following the recent contract proposal made to captain Virgil van Dijk.
As the club aims to solidify its squad, the two-time African Footballer of the Year’s future has become a priority, particularly after the 32-year-old winger’s impressive performances this season.
Salah has been vocal about his contract situation at the club, with the current deal set to run out in June 2025.
After Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Manchester City, Salah hinted at a possible departure, stating, “Honestly, that’s what’s in my head — this is in all probability the last City game I will play for Liverpool.”
With Van Dijk’s contract negotiations underway, Liverpool are keen to ensure that Salah remains with the club going forward.
The Reds’ owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are now facing pressure to meet Salah’s wage demands, especially with significant offers reportedly available from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
