Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has emerged as a hot prospect for some of Europe’s elite clubs, with Liverpool, Real Madrid, and PSG reportedly showing strong interest in signing him next summer.
Lookman, who plays for Atalanta in Serie A, has been in scintillating form over the past two seasons. He played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph last season, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s top attacking talents.
Reports indicate that while PSG made a concrete attempt to secure Lookman’s signature last summer, no significant moves have been made by any club in recent weeks. Manchester United and Real Madrid are also said to be monitoring the Nigerian international closely.
Atalanta, however, remains determined to hold on to their star player. The club is actively working on a contract renewal for Lookman, whose current deal runs until 2026. The proposed extension includes a substantial salary increase, signalling Atalanta’s intent to keep him in Bergamo for the foreseeable future.
A mid-season departure seems improbable, with Atalanta competing for the Scudetto and performing well in the Champions League. The club has firmly stated its reluctance to lose any key players during the January transfer window.
This season, Lookman has continued to impress, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in just 10 Serie A appearances.
