Liverpool reach agreement to sign English-Ivorian defender Marc Guehi
Premier League giants Liverpool are on the brink on securing the services of England international of Ivory Coast descent Marc Guehi in the current transfer window.
The Reds has made a significantly summer acquisition in an attempt to make a meaningful impact this season, with Guehi expected to join the Anfield outfit before the closure of the transfer window on September 1.
Liverpool are in final negotiations to complete the signing of the 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender.
According to the source, Guehi has already agreed personal terms with the Reds on a contract running until 2030. Liverpool now just need final approval from the London club, who will receive €42 million plus a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer.
For the record, Crystal Palace signed the defender from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 and established himself as a key member of the team.
Last season, he made 44 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists as Palace lifted their first major silverware – The FA Cup.
Guehi, born in Abidjan, has made 23 appearances for the England national team, since marking his debut in 2022.
