Premier League giants Liverpool are close to completing the acquisition of Dutch international of Ghanaian descent Jeremie Frimpong.
The Reds are seeking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign following the departure of England international Trent Alexander Arnold.
The enterprising right-back is departing Anfield as a free agent after failing to extend his contract with the English outfit.
However, Liverpool have identified the former Celtic defender, who plies his trade for Bayer Leverkusen as the perfect replacement for Arnold.
According to reports, Liverpool have reached a full agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to secure the signing of the talented. The transfer fee is around €40 million.
The Reds are expected to officially announce the deal at the closure of the current football campaign.
Frimpong is a Manchester City academy product. This season, he has tallied 5 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances.
The 24-year-old has been consistent in last two seasons for the Bundesliga outfit. He was instrumental when Leverkusen secured the Bundesliga title last season.
Despite having a contract until 2028, the 24-year-old is set for Leverkusen departure as he seeks for a new challenge.
