Liverpool push hard for Yan Diomande move

Liverpool are ramping up their efforts to sign RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande after his outstanding debut season in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old winger has attracted interest from several European giants following a campaign in which he scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 competitive appearances.

According to reports in Germany, Liverpool are going “full throttle” in their bid to get a deal done before the upcoming World Cup. Paris Saint-Germain are also heavily involved and, like Liverpool, are said to be ready to offer around 100 million euros for the Ivory Coast international.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are likewise monitoring the situation, while Bayern Munich have reportedly stepped back from the race.

Leipzig, however, are determined to keep their star. The club want to upgrade Diomande’s contract, which runs until 2030, and significantly increase his salary, with current earnings believed to be under two million euros per year.

Crucially for Leipzig, his deal contains no release clause, meaning they retain full control over any transfer. With a market value now estimated at 90 million euros, Leipzig are expected to only seriously consider an offer in the high nine-figure range.
