Liverpool plot summer move for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a major push to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as they step up plans to replace Mohamed Salah this summer.

The club confirmed in late March that Salah will leave at the end of the season, forcing the Premier League side to accelerate their search for a new right-sided attacker.

Several names have been linked in recent months, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande previously described as a primary target. However, Bild journalist Christian Falk has since reported that Leipzig are unlikely to sanction a sale of the Ivorian, prompting Liverpool to look elsewhere.

According to The Times, Liverpool now intend to focus on 23-year-old Barcola as their preferred option to succeed Salah. The English club are said to be planning a concrete attempt to complete a transfer ahead of next season. PSG, though, would rather keep the French winger and are working to convince him to sign a new deal. Barcola’s current contract runs until the summer of 2028, which strengthens the French champions’ position in negotiations.

It therefore remains uncertain whether Liverpool can reach an agreement with PSG over a fee that would persuade them to part with Barcola in the upcoming window.
