Liverpool are making strong moves to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi as they push to beat Chelsea and Newcastle United to the defender’s signature.
The Reds are planning talks with Palace in the next 24 hours to discuss a deal for the 24-year-old England international, who has just one year left on his contract.
Liverpool’s interest has grown as Guehi’s future remains uncertain, and with Jurgen Klopp’s rebuild in full swing, adding a reliable centre-back has become a priority. Guehi’s leadership and composure at the back make him a strong target.
Chelsea and Newcastle have shown interest in recent weeks, but Liverpool are now stepping ahead in the race.
According to Mirror Sport, the Merseyside giants will meet with Palace to try and reach an agreement quickly.
Palace once valued Guehi at £70 million, but with his contract winding down, they may be forced to accept around £40 million.
Guehi’s exit from Selhurst Park seems likely, and Liverpool are moving with urgency to make sure he ends up at Anfield this summer.
