Wolverhampton teenager Mateus Mane is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, despite the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The 18-year-old winger, who is Portuguese and of Bissau-Guinean origin, is reportedly being monitored by several top-flight sides after making a strong impression at Wolves. Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs understood to have made enquiries about his situation.

According to transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, both clubs have sought information on Mane, although they are not the only prominent teams keeping track of his development. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have also reportedly identified the young forward as a player of interest.

The level of competition for Mane’s signature reflects the reputation he has already built at Wolverhampton. He is regarded as one of the young players to watch at the club, with his performances continuing to draw attention despite Wolves’ drop into England’s second tier.

Wolves remain determined to keep rising star

Wolverhampton are not currently understood to be considering a sale. Although the club were relegated to the Championship at the end of last season, they continue to view Mane as an important part of their plans.

The winger is under contract with Wolves until June 2029. That long-term agreement gives the club a strong negotiating position and could make it significantly more difficult for interested Premier League sides to secure a deal.
