Liverpool manager Arne Slot has likened Egypt star Mohammed Salah to Portugal icon Cristiano Ronaldo, in terms of taking care of his body and physical fitness.
Salah has been outstanding for the Reds in the ongoing campaign, racking up 27 goals and providing 19 assists across competitions.
Slot in an interview with British newspaper “Mirror”, highlighted, “In some parts you can see that he is 32 years old, and what I mean by that is that he has the experience and intelligence to know where the ball will fall.”
“This is a positive thing, he has been through many situations where he feels that the ball will fall there, and he does, like the second goal against Everton.”
“There are other things to be admired, like his fitness and what he does to be able to play every three days, at his age,” he continued.
“I think Cristiano Ronaldo is still doing that at 40.” He
added, “But Salah is definitely an example for our younger players, considering how fit he is and how he can perform at his best every three days.”
He pointed out, “32 is not a big age for a footballer, and Salah proves that.”
He continued, “Every coach loves to work with the best players in the world, but what excites me most is that Salah is a very humble person, who wants to work every day to become a better player.”
The Reds coach added, “Coming here knowing that you will work with players of this quality, is what excites me most as a coach, in this situation my efforts are useful.
