Liverpool links fuel Yan Diomande’s rise as Leipzig star stays grounded
RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande has revealed that reported interest from Liverpool is driving him to raise his level, even as he remains focused on delivering for his current club.
The 19-year-old winger has rapidly built a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising attacking prospects following a standout debut campaign in the Bundesliga.
His pace, directness and confidence in one-on-one situations have attracted attention from several top sides, with Liverpool among those said to be tracking his progress closely.
Rather than becoming distracted by speculation, Diomande views the growing interest as fuel for further development.
“You gonna be happy and motivate to do more,” Diomande told reporters.
“I don’t really think about this kind of thing because I’m trying to be focused on the pitch and because my job is playing football so (my representatives) gonna take care of everything outside of the pitch.
“So this kind of things give me a lot of motivation to see a lot of clubs speaking about you and stuff like this, but I’m focused.”
Having completed a €20 million move from CD Leganés last summer, Diomande has quickly settled into Leipzig’s high-intensity system.
His seamless adaptation has strengthened his bond with the German club, where he feels valued and trusted.
