Mohamed Salah increasingly likely to leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool have begun contingency planning for a future beyond Mohamed Salah, with Bundesliga pair Michael Olise and Yan Diomande emerging as prominent names on the club’s radar.

The Anfield hierarchy are understood to be assessing wide attacking options as uncertainty continues to surround Salah’s long-term future on Merseyside.

At 33, Mohamed Salah has found it difficult to consistently replicate the extraordinary standards that powered Liverpool to their second Premier League crown last season.

While his influence remains significant, growing speculation suggests the Egyptian forward could be set for a summer departure, with interest from Saudi Arabia reportedly intensifying.

In anticipation of that possibility, Liverpool are said to have drawn up a shortlist that features Olise of Bayern Munich and Diomande of RB Leipzig.

Both players operate predominantly on the right flank, the role Salah has made his own for much of the past decade, and are viewed as capable of injecting pace, creativity and directness into the side’s attacking structure.

Olise, admired for his technical refinement and ability to unlock compact defences, has enhanced his reputation in Germany with assured performances at the highest level.

Diomande, meanwhile, represents a younger and more developmental profile, but his explosiveness and composure in one-on-one situations have reportedly caught Liverpool’s attention.

Neither pursuit is expected to be straightforward. Both clubs are under little pressure to sell and would likely demand significant fees.

However, after a record-breaking 2025 transfer window, Liverpool have shown a willingness to invest heavily when strategic targets are identified.
