Liverpool launches move to sign Ivorian winger Yan Diomande with Mohamed Salah’s future still uncertain
Liverpool FC are reportedly preparing a move for Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig, though recent reports suggest that this transfer would not automatically signal the departure of Mohamed Salah from Anfield.
Salah has had a challenging season, struggling to reach his usual high standards and reportedly clashing with manager Arne Slot. With just one year remaining on his contract, many have expected the Egyptian forward to move to the Saudi Pro League at the end of the campaign.
However, sources cited by TeamTalk indicate that Salah’s exit is not guaranteed.
Liverpool’s pursuit of the 19-year-old Diomande is being considered independently of Salah’s future. Diomande’s versatility allows him to play on either wing, meaning his arrival would not necessarily force Salah out. Even if the veteran striker opts to stay and see out his contract, the Reds are reportedly still likely to proceed with signing the RB Leipzig winger.
The potential addition of Diomande adds to a crowded attacking lineup at Anfield. Last summer’s signings of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike for the central forward role already created significant competition, and the presence of both Salah and Diomande on the right wing could further complicate Liverpool’s attacking setup.
