Premier League giants Liverpool are doing everything possible to extend the contract of France international of Malian descent Ibrahima Konaté.
With interest in the defender from Spanish giants Real Madrid, it’s understood the Reds is eager to tie down the former RB Leipzig centre-back to a longer contract.
Currently, Liverpool have no intention of walking away from contract negotiations with the 26-year-old defender. The club remain determined to extend the Frenchman’s contract at Anfield to deter interest from other clubs.
Konaté’s current contract with the Merseyside outfit is set to expire in 2026. Liverpool’s effort in extending Konate’s contract has proved futile, but the Reds will continue to push to get the defender’s contracted extended.
