Liverpool are working urgently to open contract talks with defender Ibrahima Konaté amid growing fears that he could leave for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The French centre-back, whose parents are from Mali, has just 18 months left on his current deal, and reports suggest he is leaning towards a move to PSG.
The French giants are keen on strengthening their defense and see Konaté as a top target.
Liverpool are aware of the situation and are making efforts to convince the 25-year-old to extend his contract.
Club officials are concerned about the possibility of losing both Konaté and Virgil van Dijk in the same transfer window. Van Dijk’s contract expires in June, and his future at Anfield remains uncertain.
Konaté, who joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021, has been an important part of the Reds’ defence.
However, with PSG showing strong interest, Liverpool may have to act fast to secure his long-term future.
