Liverpool face heavy financial hit if Mohamed Salah is sold
An English press report has warned that Liverpool would suffer a major financial loss if the club decided to sell Egyptian star Mohamed Salah in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The situation comes amid growing tension after Salah’s recent comments following the 15th-round Premier League match against Leeds United, where he did not start for the third game in a row and remained unused for the second consecutive match.
After that game, Salah stated that his relationship with Dutch coach Arne Slot “was good but there is no relationship now,” and hinted that some people at the club want him to leave, remarks that led to his complete exclusion from the following Champions League match against Inter Milan. He then returned as a substitute against Brighton, coming on in the first half after Joe Gomez’s injury and providing the assist for Liverpool’s second goal.
According to British outlet The Sun, Liverpool are now reconsidering Salah’s future due to his sharply declining market value and may accept an offer of around 30 million pounds, far below the 150 million bid previously rejected from Saudi side Al Ittihad and the 40 million paid to sign him from Roma in 2017, despite his role in winning every major trophy with the club and becoming the fourth-highest scorer in Premier League history.
