Liverpool Eyeing Diafra Sakho as Balotelli Struggles
Mario Balotelli’s time at Liverpool continues to disappoint, with the Italian striker scoring just two goals across all competitions since arriving from AC Milan this past summer. The club’s management, reportedly frustrated by his lack of impact, is actively exploring options to bolster their attack during the January transfer window.
According to the Metro, one name topping Liverpool’s shortlist is Diafra Sakho. The Senegalese forward, who joined West Ham United from FC Metz last summer, has had a remarkable start in the Premier League. His impressive goal-scoring form has helped propel West Ham to fourth place after 15 matches—a position few predicted at the start of the season.
Sakho’s pace, physical presence, and finishing ability have quickly made him a standout in the English top flight, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed by top clubs. A winter move to Anfield could be on the cards if Liverpool choose to cut their losses with Balotelli and revamp their frontline.
However, given Sakho’s importance to West Ham’s success this season, convincing the Hammers to part ways with their star striker mid-season could prove to be a major challenge.
