Liverpool manager Arne Slot has reportedly identified Barcelona winger Raphinha as his priority target to replace Mohamed Salah, should the Egyptian depart Anfield.
The Reds have enjoyed a stellar start to the season under Slot’s leadership, sitting atop the Premier League table with ten wins from 12 matches.
However, Slot has had to navigate several off-field issues, with Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk all approaching the end of their contracts at the end of the season.
While it appears likely that Van Dijk will soon sign a new deal, the futures of Salah and the others remain uncertain.
According to reports from Spain, Slot has already chosen Raphinha as the player he wants to bring in to replace Salah if the two-time Africa footballer of the year decides to leave Anfield.
The Barcelona winger is said to be Slot’s ‘priority in view of Salah’s possible departure’, as Liverpool prepare ‘for one of the major possible departures in recent years’.
Sources close to the English club have indicated that Raphinha is the ‘priority target’ for Slot ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Liverpool boss reportedly views the Brazilian as his ‘ideal replacement’ for Salah, should the prolific forward opt to seek a new challenge.
