Liverpool aware of Victor Osimhen threat ahead of Galatasaray encounter
Liverpool are preparing for their Champions League last-16 first leg against Galatasaray with Victor Osimhen firmly on their radar as a major danger man.
Head coach Arne Slot stressed that the Nigerian striker is a special player whose qualities demand extra attention in their game plan.
Speaking before the match, Slot said: “Yes and no, we always take precuations against special players and we play a lot in PL as well. Osimhen is quality but he is not the only player. Our centre-backs know him as well, Virgil maybe played him when he was at Napoli. He is not the only good player and when you are in the last 16 you have to make your players aware of the other team’s quality.”
Osimhen’s pace, movement and clinical finishing make him one of Galatasaray’s biggest weapons, and Liverpool’s defenders are expected to be fully focused on limiting his impact.
Slot’s comments underline a balanced approach: respect Osimhen’s threat, but stay switched on to the quality across the entire Galatasaray side on such a high-stakes European night.
