Liverpool agree £120m deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Bradley Barcola, according to The Athletic, with the total value of the deal understood to be about £120m.

More than £100m of that figure will be paid as a guaranteed fee, the report says, while the two clubs are now working to complete the final details of the transfer.

Sky Sport Germany also reports that Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have reached the final stages of negotiations for the 23-year-old France forward. Only a small number of details remain to be clarified, with an agreement expected within hours or, at most, a few days.

Barcola is ready to undergo a medical after reaching a final agreement on personal terms with Liverpool several weeks ago, according to the report.

The move would bring an end to Barcola’s time at Paris Saint-Germain, whom he joined from Lyon in the summer of 2023. He has not played for the French club since the start of the current season.

Paris Saint-Germain have played three matches this season. Those fixtures were against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, Lens in the French Super Cup and Stade de Reims in the opening round of Ligue 1.

Barcola has made 49 appearances in all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain during the previous season. He scored 13 goals and provided seven assists during that campaign.

His time in Paris has also brought a significant collection of honours. Barcola has won the UEFA Champions League twice, the UEFA Super Cup twice and the Intercontinental Cup.

He has also lifted the French Super Cup three times and the Coupe de France twice, as well as winning the French Super Cup on three occasions.

Liverpool’s agreement with Paris Saint-Germain represents the latest stage in a deal that has developed rapidly in recent hours. The Athletic says the clubs settled the principal terms before moving on to the remaining elements of the transfer.

Sky Sport Germany’s account similarly indicates that negotiations are close to completion. The outstanding issues are described as minor, with the final agreement expected imminently.

Barcola’s absence from Paris Saint-Germain’s opening fixtures of the season comes as Liverpool prepare to complete his potential move to England. The Frenchman’s immediate availability for a medical is another indication that the transfer is nearing its conclusion.
