A legend continues to chase another legend!
Yesterday, Lionel Messi once again showcased his brilliance by scoring a brace for Barcelona against Rayo Vallecano, leading his team to a resounding 6-0 victory.
With these goals, Messi has now netted 13 times for Barça since the beginning of the La Liga season, bringing his total tally in the competition to an impressive 228 goals.
This achievement sees him surpass Alfredo Di Stefano (227) in the club’s history, elevating him to the esteemed position of the third-highest scorer in La Liga history, alongside Raul, with whom he now shares this ranking.
Although Telmo Zarra (251) and Hugo Sanchez (234) still hold the top two spots, Messi’s remarkable consistency and prowess suggest that he could indeed dream of surpassing them in the future.
