Divock Origi was happy with Lille’s performance after their 2-0 win over Nantes on Ligue 1 Matchday 5. Despite a tough first half, the team grew more aggressive and scored early in the second half, with Origi opening the scoring. He told BeIn Sports:
“It didn’t go well at the start, but we were more aggressive after that, and it paid off. At halftime, the coach told us we had to do better, but we already knew that, so we took more risks, and it worked.”
With Lille now leading the Ligue 1 table after three wins and two draws, Origi emphasized their consistency:
“It shows that we’re present, that what we did last year wasn’t a coincidence, and it’s good for us.”
Origi’s loan spell from Liverpool is clearly off to a strong start.
