French Ligue 1 outfit Lille OSC have joined the race for the signing of English teenager of Malian descent Sol Sidibé.
Sources have revealed that the French outfit is ready to battle Aston Villa to secure the services of the Stoke City midfielder.
The 18-year-old midfielder, currently with English Championship club Stoke City, has caught the attention of several top European clubs following his impressive breakthrough.
Sidibé made his professional debut in 2023 at just 16 years old and has since gone on to make 21 appearances for the Potters.
According to reports, Lille are ready to challenge Premier League side Aston Villa for the youngster’s signature. The French outfit have been closely monitoring Sidibé’s progress and are keen to bring the Paris-born talent back to France.
However, Lille and Villa are not alone in the pursuit. Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and Ajax are also reportedly interested in the midfielder, who is expected to be sold this summer despite being under contract with Stoke until 2027.
Checks have revealed that Sol Sidibé and his representatives are assessing their options and will make a decision in the coming weeks.
