Lille bring in Forest winger Dilane Bakwa on season-long loan

France and DR Congo winger Dilane Bakwa has joined Lille from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan, adding a left-footed right winger to the Ligue 1 club’s squad.

The 24-year-old completed the move on 26 August 2026, with the loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. Bakwa will return to Nottingham Forest when the agreement expires, unless a further arrangement is reached between the clubs.

Bakwa began his senior career at Bordeaux after progressing through the club’s academy. He left Bordeaux for Strasbourg in August 2023 in a €10m transfer, before moving to Forest for €35m on 1 September 2025.

The Creteil-born player is listed at 1.80m and operates primarily on the right side of attack, with his left foot his preferred side. He holds French and DR Congo nationality.

His arrival takes him back to France after one season in the Premier League with Forest. Bakwa’s current campaign had begun before his move, although he had not made an appearance in either the Premier League or the EFL Cup by the time he switched clubs.

Lille have registered Bakwa as a member of their squad for the 2026-27 season, with the winger taking the next step in his career in Ligue 1. He has joined the club on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of June 2027.
