Lilian Brassier transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt moves closer after Stade Rennais agreement

Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a verbal agreement with Stade Rennais for the transfer of defender Lilian Brassier, with the Bundesliga club now closing in on their new defensive signing.

The deal for the French-Togolese player is worth €8.5m, with additional bonuses included in the arrangement. Although the transfer has not yet been formally completed, the main elements of the move have been agreed between the two clubs.

Brassier has also reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt over the terms of a long-term contract. The remaining work is understood to be administrative, with only a small number of details still to be settled by the respective club hierarchies.

The transfer is therefore expected to be completed within the next few days. Arrangements are currently being made for Brassier to travel to Germany, where he will undergo the medical examination required before the move can be officially signed off.

The medical will represent the next significant stage in the process. Once it has been completed and the outstanding administrative matters have been resolved, Brassier will be able to formally join Eintracht Frankfurt.

For now, the agreement remains verbal rather than finalised, but the player’s decision and the financial framework of the transfer are both in place. Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed the fee with Stade Rennais, while Brassier has settled the personal terms of his proposed long-term contract with the German club.

The €8.5m fee, together with the various bonuses attached to the operation, forms the basis of the agreement between the two sides. The move is now dependent on the final formalities, including the player’s journey to Germany and the medical assessment before the official signature.

Brassier’s expected arrival would provide Eintracht Frankfurt with the defensive reinforcement they have been seeking. However, until the medical and administrative stages are completed, the transfer cannot be considered officially concluded.

The process is now at an advanced stage, with the final steps being organised by the clubs and the player. Barring any issue during those procedures, Brassier’s move from Stade Rennais to Eintracht Frankfurt should be confirmed in the coming days.
