Lilian Brassier close to Eintracht Frankfurt switch
Lilian Brassier is on the verge of leaving Stade Rennais for Eintracht Frankfurt, with the transfer now reported as fully agreed between all parties.
The French defender is expected to sign a five-year contract that would keep him in Germany until June 2031.
The move is valued at around 12 million euros in total, including 10 million euros in fixed fees and up to 2 million euros in bonuses. Rennes and Frankfurt have already settled the key details, so the deal now looks more like a formality than a negotiation.
Brassier is still in Rennes for the moment, but he should travel to Germany soon to complete the final steps. Once there, he will undergo the last formalities before putting pen to paper and beginning a new chapter in the Bundesliga.
He started his football career at Val-d’Argenteuil, RFC Argenteuil, and Rennes II.
For Frankfurt, this is a useful defensive addition that strengthens the squad for the long term. For Rennes, it is another important sale in a busy transfer window. The deal also gives Brassier a chance to test himself in a new league after his spell in Ligue 1.
