After Olympique de Marseille’s defeat against AS Monaco (1-2) in the 4th round of Ligue 1, André Ayew expressed his thoughts on the match. Despite the disappointment, Ayew highlighted the positive aspects of OM’s performance.
“Overall, we were pretty good, we had a good halftime. We were conquerors, present in all the duels. The equalizer comes quickly after the break. We tried to push, and then we took a counter. It’s difficult for us, we had a post (…) It’s the kind of match that we like to see but for us, it’s difficult because we come out of this match with zero points even though we deserved one,” Ayew said.
He also emphasized that, despite the loss, Marseille demonstrated their quality and competitiveness. Ayew urged not to sound the alarm, acknowledging that they have good players capable of challenging any opponent. The Ghanaian striker remains optimistic about the season, emphasizing that Marseille has shown they are at a high level.
