Djibril Cissé’s passion for DJing almost derailed his potential transfer to Montpellier last summer. The president of MHSC, Loulou Nicollin, was displeased when he learned that Cissé had played as a DJ during the negotiations and decided to end the discussions. Cissé eventually joined Bastia in the current winter transfer window. Reflecting on the situation, Cissé admitted that he would have liked to join Montpellier, especially because of his respect for the club, the city, and the supporters. However, given the incident with Nicollin, cohabitation became impossible. Cissé mentions that he spoke with coach Rolland Courbis, whom he respects, but the president’s comments and the way he treats coaches made a transfer to Montpellier difficult. Cissé now plays for Bastia and anticipates a lively match against Montpellier.
