Senegalese Midfielder Elhadj Dabo Signs with Valenciennes
Valenciennes have made their first move of the summer transfer window, securing the services of promising Senegalese midfielder Elhadj Dabo from CS Sedan Ardennes.
The 19-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Ligue 2 outfit, marking his first professional contract. Dabo impressed during his debut season in France, featuring in 14 matches and earning the club’s Best Young Player award, as voted by Sedan fans.
A product of the SMASH Academy in Senegal, Dabo joined Sedan last summer and quickly adapted to European football. His performances caught the attention of Valenciennes, who moved swiftly to add him to their ranks ahead of the new campaign.
Local outlet La Voix du Nord reports that Dabo’s signing is the first of several expected as VA aim to strengthen their squad for next season.
