LIGUE 2-LENS/ KOMBOUARÉ: “WE ARE IN OUR PLACE”

In the 16th day of Ligue 2, Nancy emerged victorious over Lens with a 1-0 win, securing the three points through a penalty from Cuvillier at the end of the first half. The Lorraines’ performance handed a setback to Antoine Kombouaré and his Lens team. Despite this defeat, Lens remains in third place, trailing leader Metz by four points. Metz is set to face Auxerre on Monday evening.

Antoine Kombouaré expressed his disappointment after the match, emphasizing the significance of the loss against a contender. He highlighted the team’s subpar performance in the first half, describing it as not good and even catastrophic. Kombouaré stressed the need for improvement in defensive levels, commitment, and overall gameplay.

Despite a better showing in the second half, Lens struggled with effectiveness in front of goal. Kombouaré acknowledged the work the team is putting in and noted the improvement compared to the initial matches. He emphasized the importance of putting their hearts into away matches and gaining control of the game. While recognizing progress, Kombouaré indicated there is still work to be done to enhance the team’s performance.
