Wahbi Khazri Confident Ahead of Bordeaux’s Trip to Lyon
As Bordeaux prepares to face Lyon on Matchday 37 of Ligue 1, Wahbi Khazri is making it clear: the Girondins are not heading to Gerland just to make up the numbers.
Fresh off a win against Nantes, Khazri—the Tunisian international and key figure in Bordeaux’s midfield—believes his team can add another top club to their list of scalps.
“We are the Girondins de Bordeaux, not a bottom-of-the-table team. We are aiming for the top spots,” he told Webgirondins.com.
“We’ve shown that we can beat anyone: Paris, Marseille, Monaco, Saint-Étienne… Four of the top five! I hope we can add Lyon to that list.”
While Bordeaux remains in the hunt for European qualification, Lyon, coming off a shocking 3-0 defeat at Caen, will be desperate to bounce back and secure second place behind PSG. It sets the stage for an intense and meaningful late-season clash.
