Islam Slimani will be sidelined for two Ligue 1 matches following his red card in AS Monaco’s recent away game against Bordeaux. The Algerian striker was sent off in the 67th minute after a strong start to the match and protested the referee’s decision before leaving the pitch.
The disciplinary committee reviewed the incident and ultimately handed Slimani a two-match suspension, allowing for a relatively lenient outcome given the circumstances. As a result, he will miss Monaco’s upcoming fixtures against PSG and Toulouse.
Slimani is expected to return to action on Saturday, December 7th, when AS Monaco hosts Amiens at the Stade Louis II, marking the end of his brief suspension. This temporary absence will require Monaco to adjust their attacking options in the next two league games.
