MUSTAPHA YATABARÉ: CAEN TARGET MALIAN STRIKER AS DUHAMEL REPLACEMENT
Malian international Mustapha Yatabaré could be set for a return to Ligue 1, with Stade Malherbe Caen reportedly in advanced talks to sign the striker on a renewable one-year deal. The 29-year-old is under contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor until June 2017, but the club is not planning to keep him, opening the door for a move.
Caen is seeking to replace Mathieu Duhamel, who is heading to Le Havre, and Yatabaré, a proven scorer in French football, appears to be the favored option. The former Clermont, Boulogne, and Guingamp forward is also attracting interest from Standard de Liège in Belgium, but Caen currently leads the race.
Having struggled to make an impact in Turkey since his move last summer, Yatabaré is eager to revive his form in a more familiar setting. A return to France could offer just that.
