Toulouse FC could be forced to cope without Matthieu Dossevi this Sunday when they welcome Paris Saint-Germain, as injury concerns continue to mount ahead of the clash with the Ligue 1 giants. Head coach Alain Casanova is already certain to be without two players for this challenging fixture and may yet lose more key elements as the match approaches.

The absentees list is led by Corentin Jean, who underwent surgery on Wednesday after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament. The injury has ruled him out for the remainder of the season and represents a significant blow for Toulouse, given his importance in attack. Defender Hakim El Mokeddem will also miss the encounter as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury and has not yet regained full fitness.

Uncertainty also surrounds the availability of two other players. Goalkeeper Mauro Goicoechea is currently struggling with a knee problem, while midfielder Matthieu Dossevi is dealing with a muscle strain. Both players picked up their injuries during the week and have been unable to take part in training sessions in recent days. As a result, their participation against PSG remains in doubt. The Toulouse coaching staff is expected to make a final decision regarding their fitness on Saturday, after assessing their physical condition.

The possible absence of Dossevi would further weaken Toulouse’s options, particularly in midfield, where his experience and work rate often play a key role in the team’s balance. Losing Goicoechea would also be problematic, especially against a PSG side renowned for its attacking firepower. Casanova may therefore be forced to reshuffle his lineup and rely on squad depth to compensate for these setbacks.

From a sporting perspective, Toulouse face an uphill battle against the capital club. Currently sitting 14th in the Ligue 1 standings, Les Violets are not yet mathematically assured of survival, but their advantage over the teams in the relegation zone gives them a relatively comfortable cushion. With a solid gap separating them from 18th place, Toulouse are widely expected to secure their top-flight status for next season.

However, despite this relative comfort, there is no sense of complacency within the squad. Toulouse are determined not to undermine their end-of-season momentum and are keen to deliver a competitive performance in front of their home supporters. Facing PSG offers an opportunity to test themselves against the league’s benchmark and to finish the campaign with pride and intensity.

The challenge, though, is considerable. Paris Saint-Germain arrive in strong form and continue to dominate domestic competition with their depth, quality, and attacking efficiency. Even with potential squad rotation, the Parisians possess enough talent to trouble any opponent, particularly one weakened by injuries.

For Toulouse, the key will be discipline, defensive organization, and collective effort. Limiting PSG’s space and capitalizing on rare counter-attacking opportunities will be essential if they hope to make the contest competitive. While expectations may be modest, Les Violets are determined to rise to the occasion and give their supporters something to cheer about, despite the difficult circumstances surrounding the match.
