Africa Top Sports reported on Friday that Kossi Agassa, the goalkeeper for Reims, sustained a knee injury during a training session with the club. Following surgery conducted yesterday, Agassa will be sidelined for three weeks.
This injury means he will miss upcoming matches against Guingamp, Bordeaux, and likely the trip to Monaco as well. Agassa has been a consistent presence for Reims since his arrival in 2008, providing reassurance to the team in numerous appearances.
In Agassa’s absence, coach Hubert Fournier has called upon the young reserve goalkeeper Gassama to support Placide in goal. The squad for the upcoming matches includes:
Goalkeepers: Placide, Gassama
Defenders: Weber, Turan, Tacalfred, Mandi, Glombard
Midfielders: Krychowiak, Ca, Albaek, Ghisolfi, Oniangue, Devaux, Fortes, Ayite
Forwards: Atar, De Preville, Courtet
With Agassa sidelined, Reims will need to adapt to his absence and continue their campaign without their Sparrowhawk goalkeeper.
