Despite the setbacks, Nicolas Nkoulou, the Cameroonian international, remains hopeful for a strong finish to the season. He believes that Marseille has the potential to turn things around and finish strongly. “I can’t say that I’m happy when we’re not competing for the top positions. It’s not where we belong with our capabilities. When we represent OM, it’s to aim for the top spots. Currently, it’s not ideal, but we’ll keep pushing and see where we end up… When we’re not working together and pulling in the same direction, we face difficulties. But one victory can change everything. Victories breed more victories, and we must focus on the positive and build on it,” Nkoulou expressed on the club’s official website.
Regarding the possibility of securing the third place on the podium, Nkoulou remains optimistic: “As long as there’s a mathematical chance, we believe in it. We won’t give up. If we were complacent, we wouldn’t have earned a point against Reims. We’ve had setbacks, but it’s not over yet. There are still matches to be played, points to be earned, and we’ll work hard to collect as many as possible.”
