Alaixys Romao, the Togolese international playing for Marseille, has been handed a suspension by the LFP Disciplinary Commission. This suspension comes as a result of Romao receiving his third yellow card in a span of 10 matches. As a consequence, he will be ineligible to participate in Marseille’s upcoming match against Lorient at the Vélodrome stadium on February 22. This means Romao will miss the opportunity to face his former club.
The booking that led to Romao’s suspension occurred during Marseille’s match against Bastia in Ligue 1. Prior to this, Romao had received yellow cards in two previous matches: against Reims in the Coupe de la Ligue’s 32nd final and against Nice in the same competition during the 16th round, which Marseille lost 4-5. As a result of accumulating three yellow cards in 10 matches, Romao is now facing suspension from the next fixture.
